Miske insider flips, pleads guilty and agrees to testify

I have a long story in Civil Beat today detailing for the first time the guilty plea by Jacob “Jake” Smith, who has admitted to providing “muscle” on request to former Honolulu businessman Michael Miske, who is now facing a variety of serious charges along with ten co-defenants resulting from a long federal investigation into a criminal organization prosecutors are calling the “Miske Enterprise.”

From my Civil Beat story:

In court filings, federal prosecutors have repeatedly referred to grand jury testimony by witnesses including “numerous cooperating defendants,” but Smith is the first Miske insider to publicly agree to cooperate with prosecutors and testify against his former associates.

Smith, 27, described in the plea agreement as “a skilled martial artist,” admitted he had been “on call” to commit violent assaults on victims when requested by Miske, for which he would be paid $1,500 to $2,000 per “job.” His plea agreement then outlines his participation in a series of incidents involving assaults, armed robberies, attempted murder, extortion and drug dealing.

I’ll let you read the rest over at Civil Beat.

Christmas Day 2016, Ala Moana Mall:
“Dae Han Moon was 20 years old and out on bail for a firearms charge when he fatally shot Stevie Feliciano during a brawl in the center parking garage.”
Q: Was this a Miske hit?

I think it was Miske gang robbery that went South and ended up in a killing. They robbed people of drugs and money often. I don’t think killing Feliciano was originally part of the plan. There was a fight that broke out according to everyone that was involved on both sides. Probably when Miske’s guys tried to rob Feliciano of his money.
