Sunday will be the end of Week #2 since The Cat Now Known as Kinikini entered the house. He’s adapting pretty well to being an inside cat. He’s also had several short forays out of his “safe” room this week. Three in the dead of night, one in the evening while we were watching television, and one abreviated afternoon session. None of these involved meeting Romeo or Kali, although Romeo was asleep on a living room chair on two of the excursions that occurred under cover of darkness.

The television evening was a failure. Kini was spooked by sound of whatever movie we were watching. He didn’t even come out of his room for several minutes. Then he peeked into the living room from the hall, and quickly retreated. This was repeated several times. Look quickly, retreat. He did creep about 6 feet into the living room when we turned the sound off, making it far enough to look into the basket of cat toys before running back to his safe room.

Now we need a plan for introducing him to Romeo and especially Kali. Sometime this next week, perhaps.
