Saturday, and I’ll be coasting through the day. Trying to finish one of Robert Parker’s Spenser novels before the library recalls it from my Libby app. Lunch at the Museum of Art. Something on the grill for dinner.
Kikikini and Kali double-teamed me at some ungodly hour this morning. Kinikini made the first couple of passes, walking across me with a loud purr while kneading happily with sharp little claws just starting to grow back after a trim several weeks back. I tried to hide, taking refuge under a blanket, tried to pretend to be asleep, finally gave a gentle nudge that sent him down to the floor (but he was resilient and returned almost immediately). He finally gave up, but then returned with another attempt to purr me awake. But when I sneaked a peek, turned out this time it was Ms. Kali doing her thing. I guess they were hungry, but it wasn’t even 3:30 am yet. I was eventually able to stall but still had to drag myself out of bed a bit before 5, and the cats happily followed me to the kitchen for their morning rewards.
And so it goes on this final weekend of the month.
