A Christmas Eve Feline Friday

I brought Bessie home on Wednesday afternoon, December 15. It’s been eight or nine days, depending on whether we’re counting calendar days or 24-hour periods. In either case, it hasn’t been long. And Ms. Bessie has pushed her way into the middle of our feline family.

Merry Christmas to us!

Okay, I admit that these pictures aren’t as great as nativity scenes being crashed by cats. But they do show how Bessie has so successfully moved in! You’ll see her first venture out of the “safe” room where she spent her first 48 hours, her first meeting with Romeo, etc.

By today, it’s happy chaos at meal time. And we’ve gotten this far without any fights or signs of aggression.

There’s still a way to go before all the cats are comfortable all the time, but the progress during Week #1 has been amazing.

It’s so heartwarming to see everyone paying their respects to Romeo. I sure hope Bessie doesn’t get it in her mind she can hop onto Kali’s fuzzy pillow/pad one day! That’s kapu territory!
