Feline Friday the 13th

But there’s nothing scary here today.

We arrived home Wednesday afternoon at about 4:30 pm. As we were coming into the house, we called for the cats.

We entered a house that had no cats.

I looked in their favored hiding places.

Still not cats.

Seconds went by, then minutes.

At about the 6 minute mark, Ms. Kali darted through the living room, careful not to let either of us get close enough to touch her, but obviously checking out the new intruders.

It took almost another 15 minutes before Kini and Bessie emerged.

At that point, they decided we were the correct humans and cozied up for pets and treats.

If you want instant greetings, get a dog, I guess.

Caution and suspicion are some traits of cats that I actually appreciate. It’s self defense and logical. Dogs seem to have three modes: ridiculously over-the-top friendly, viciously dangerous and scary or quiet and ambivalent but will then tear you apart for no reason at all. I don’t own dogs so naturally I’m generalizing based on past experience and what I’ve read in the news about “beloved family Rottweiler that suddenly, for no reason, ripped the toddler apart.”

Welcome back and thanks for putting together a FF this week!
