End your week on a high note with Feline Friday

Well, the Insiders–Kali, Kinikini, and Bessie–have had a pretty good week.

And I have been using a new lens, a 30mm f/1.4 lens by Sigma for my Canon M6ii camera. It’s the equivalent of a “normal” 50mm lens on a 35mm camera, for those who understand such comparisons. It’s sharp and fast, and it did a really good job in the house with the cats, where the light isn’t always the best, and sometimes there’s a bit of action.

I wish that I had better news on the stray black cat that’s been hanging around for several weeks. Although I could touch and pet it, this cat is wily, and avoided my attempts to lure it into a trap. And I failed in several attempts to take advantage of a petting session and maneuver it into a carrier. Two times the fails were quite spectacular. In any case, after the last of those several tries, black cat appears to have decided that it was time to move on.

And, unfortunately, we came to the realization that it wasn’t as good a candidate for adoption as we had initially thought and hoped. I wish we could have at least trapped it for the trap-neuter-release treatment, but that just didn’t work out. So here we are. A little sad, a little relieved, a bit emptier. For now.
