A Christmas week Feline Friday

And not a single holiday-themed photo in the whole batch!

It turns out that when a cold kept me hanging around the house for most of the week, I ended up with a lot more cat pictures than normal. In fact, I captured all the photos that I could use by Wednesday afternoon!

After a week away, the cat seemed to enjoy us being around constantly.

And you are the beneficiaries of this abundance of images!

A few things of note. There’s a picture of Kinikini standing on top of our washer. He has a spot on top of one of the cabinets above the washer-dryer where he sometimes hangs out. On the far right of the photos are two small ceramic calico cats. My mother made those for us back around 1990 or so when she was taking ceramics classes through the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation. They represented Miki and Kua, our first two calicos, and captured their essential aspects. They have suffered crazing over the years, but are treasured possessions.

In another photo, Bessie is checking out our weekly Zoom conversation with a group of friends from our days at Whitman College. She tends to pace back and forth in front of us while we’re talking, unless Kinikini displaces her. They can’t share the same space without a tussle.

Yes, these photos don’t lie. I have to admit that the mail stack is a little out of control. Time for some year end digging and sorting. But, in the meantime, the cats don’t seem bothered by it. Perhaps they have the best attitude!

Oh, yes. Do pay attention to the one photo of Kali and Kinikini sharing the bed during nap time. And they have now extended their cease fire into the evening hours as well, and now have been spending at least part of each night sharing the bed with us.

In any case, here come the cats.

First of all, they don’t have attitude…they have CATITUDE!

Secondly, the pic of the mini calicos in the laundry room windowsill made me nervous to look at. The potential for knocking over is so great! How about higher up a book shelf that the cats don’t climb up?

And finally, picture #7 with Bessie lounging and looking seductive! 😀 😀
