I almost deleted this email, which I expected to be another appeal from a political candidate or committee. Luckily, I clicked through “just in case.” And was rewarded.
It turned out to be a response to a post this past summer reviewing the heavily advertised Homeaglow cleaning service.
In a world of ever more nefarious scams and receding journalists, it was a pleasure to read your critique about “Homeaglow.” Although I’m not in Hawaii (sadly), it was informative and very useful. Fortunately, I read your article before wading any deeper into the dreck often appearing in a Google search. With the advent of substack, countless paywalls, and information harvesting-it is a relief/joy to encounter such good journalism.

Think before they sign up for scams!! Best thing to help
Figure out if it’s a scam is pretend for a second that your the worker… Then
Pretend your going to scrub and what you expect done in your home
And then you’ll have your answer! If you wouldn’t clean your own home
And hate the job so as to hire it done….. Think how much you will pay
So not to have to do it…. Hahaha then add 2.00 per hour on top
Of that…. Yeah home a glow is a SCAM….. AND PPL NEED TO
FIGURE THAT OUT …. I JUST WONDER HOW MUCH IS BEING STOLEN
AND WALKING OUT THEIR FRONT DOOR!! BECAUSE SCREENING
ISNT HAPPENING… GOOD LUCK PPL HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!!
