More on the 2012 assault of event promoter Michael Galmiche

On Monday morning, a longtime teacher and student activities coordinator at Farrington High School testified about the assault that took place on the street in front of Mike Miske’s M Nightclub on December 15, 2012.

The testimony of Theresa Schubert followed that of Michael Galmiche, who was the primary target of the assault. Schubert, who had worked with Galmiche for several years, was in a group assisting in setting up a screen and projector, and handing out leaflets, to departing customers of the M and a couple of other venues.

Schubert she was partnered with another person to hold the screen across the street from the parking lot exit. It was their last stop of the night.

She was on one end of the screen when a black Porche pulled up in front of them. The man inside was talking on the phone, then got out of his car yelling, “Take this fucking thing down!”

“I didn’t know who he was,” Schubert said, so she didn’t understand why he was so mad and yelling.

“Why are you fucking doing this,” the man yelled. “I told you guys no do this fucking shit. I let you in my club, take this fucking shit down.”

He kept yelling and pacing, Schubert said, and she started shutting down the computer and projector.

Then she saw a group of men coming toward them who appeared to be bouncers, all dressed in black. At first she thought they had arrived to help them, but they immediately began punching Galmiche.

Miske threw a blow at Galmiche, Schubert said, while two other guys were holding him up. Schubert said she want to try to help Galmiche, and one of the guys grabbed her shoulder and said, “sista, too late!”

She kneeled next to Galmiche and tried to bear hug him.

“I thought they would stop since I was a girl,” she said. “I yelled, ‘I’m a girl, I’m a freakin’ chick.”

Instead of backing off, one of the men kicked her in the head and on her right side.

She later identified the guy with a a big tattoo and a broad forehead as John Stancil, Miske’s half-brother.

“It stopped when I heard sirens,” she testified.

Judge Derrick Watson overruled a defense objection and allowed two pages of testimony by Michael Galmiche to be admitted into evidence.
