Two photos for Mother’s Day.
Top Photo: Meda and her mother, Margaret Renton Chesney, shortly after the tornado that struck the small town of Woodward, Oklahoma, on April 9, 1947. The family’s home was demolished, briefly trapping them in the rubble. But they survived relatively unscathed. Many others did not.
Bottom Photo: My mother, Helen Yonge Lind, with me and my favorite Jack-in-the-Box, in the backyard of our Kahala home around 1949. In the background, you can see evidence that my mom had added a lot of plants during the seven years since they bought the property with its Bishop Estate lease. Meda and I moved from Kaaawa back to Kahala in 2015 after completing a total renovation of the old house.

Wonderful images of you and Meda. Both your mothers were beautiful.
Marvelous tribute to your mothers! Love getting a glimpse of this time in history.
