Whatever the numbers, it is hot in Redwood City and most of the area south of San Franisco today.
People here have tricks for moving themselves around the house as the sun progresses through the day, seeking out the most pleasant room to be in at any particular time.
We lost that traditional knowledge decades ago, if we ever had time to learn it.
It’s hot. I had a shower. The fan that I moved into the living room sounds like a jet engine when it is on his high speed.

Wet a kerchief, wring it out, roll it up and tie loosely around the neck. An old hiking trick.
They also sell tiny little personal fans which you can wear around your neck, or clamp to a nearby desktop. They don’t make so much noise and work pretty well as long as they are next to you.

My kids in Brisbane report the same sultry weather, even in their little hamlet of Brisbane CA. And when its hot there, it truly is because it seems Brisbane residents live in their own personal little cloudbank – they enjoy gorgeous sunny days and then, not unlike neighboring SF, the cloud bank rolls in to keep evenings chill.
