Our view at dawn

I almost missed this moment. I had my back to the ocean while taking pictures of a couple of our favorite dogs.

And when I turned around, this was the view. Wow!

Anyway, if you’re trapped by the ice and snow in some cold place, I’m happy to share a bit of this Hawaiian morning.

The best of Saturday morning….

I winnowed down this morning’s photos. These are the two best shots.

The colors before dawn, where Waialae Stream runs through Waialae Beach Park to the ocean.

And Jake, wildly enthusiastic after the end of his puppy quarantine. He just loves the world, the grass, the other dogs, people’s feet and hands, and, of course, doggy treats.

Friday’s Dawn and Dogs after a week’s absence

Yes, we’re back home after 8 days visiting family and friends in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dawn this morning was funny. There was an area of red and orange colors in the sky, but it was about 90 degrees to the right of where the sun was coming up. And because of the heavy cloud cover, we never actually saw the sun rise. All of that was going on behind the layer of clouds.

And the dogs! This was our first in-person sighting of Jake since his grooming adventure. Losing all that fur didn’t dampen his enthusiasm for, well everything, as you’ll see.

The best of Saturday morning dawn and dogs

Different camera today. I pulled out my 10-year old Sony RX-1, full frame with a fixed 35mm lens, but it’s a really good lens, which compensates for some of the issues with an older camera that lacks up to date features and speed.

Sunrise.

And this is Sugi, looking more than a bit bedraggled after a morning swim!

Jake, the toy poodle puppy, really wants to play, which involves running around and jumping onto dogs that come into his area. But he’s also learned to line up for treats when the other dogs do it. Meda is just out of the photo to the left with her bag of goodies, and when Pepper stopped to beg, Jake joined right in.
