Tech lobbyist joins staff of Sen. Schatz

Melika Carroll, who most recently served as a lobbyist for Salesforce.com Inc., has joined the staff of U.S. Senator Brian Schatz as policy advisor.

According to Legistorm, the Congressional tracking service, Carroll has spent most of her career as lobbyist for a series of tech companies, including Intel, Hewlett-Packard, and Micron Technology.

Over the last 15 years, Mèlika has led and helped build government affairs teams for top global technology companies.

She is a recognized leader in successfully developing and implementing policy and political strategies, building industry coalitions and advocacy campaigns in a variety of jurisdictions as well as positioning companies, CEOs and other C-level executives before global policymakers. Her international policy expertise includes technology, international trade, privacy and intellectual property.

Mèlika is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University where she offers a practicum on international business and government relations in the Master of Science in Foreign Service program. She is the co-founder and current chairwoman of the Global Women’s Innovation Network, GlobalWIN.org.
