Aha.
Several people report the problem of the main content getting pushed down the page seems to primarily occur with Internet Explorer Version 6.
Others using Windows XP with alternative browsers, including Explorer 7, say that they don’t have the same problem.
So one solution is to update your browser.
Meanwhile, I’ve been pointed to the WordPress support forums, and will be digging around there later today.

Well, I’d LIKE to update, but here at my new job, the new computers haven’t been installed yet and the administration frowns on unofficial upgrades. But yes, I’m getting that with IE6. So I wait until later to check you out back home on Firefox.
