Troubleshooting comments

Help!

I’ve heard from several people who say they have had trouble leaving or reading comments for several days.

Since there have been a number of comments left every day this week, the problem obviously isn’t affecting everyone. But the reports are from reliable people, so I’m concerned.

They report that clicking on the comments link doesn’t do anything.

If you can spare a minute, please see if you are able to connect to the comments, and email the result, yes or no. Please include what kind of computer you’re using, what browser, and what system software (on PCs, for example, XP or Vista, etc).

Hopefully the information will give me a better idea of what’s happening here and lead to a solution.

In the meantime, I’ve upgraded WordPress to the current version and am checking other WordPress settings.

I wonder if this could somehow be associated with my upgrade to the Mac’s new Snow Leopard system software? It’s hard to see how that would make a difference, as the site is not hosted on a Mac.

Any suggestions would also be appreciated.

    Sending this comment on a MacBook, OS 10.5.8, Firefox 3.5.3.

    Haven’t tried to comment earlier this week but have noticed that some comments for some entries seem to appear and then disappear.

    This is coming from a PC laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium and Google Chromne ver 3.0.195.27. No problems with your comments page.

    I got nothing for the past two days when clicking on the comment link. I tried Firefox and Internet Explorer (on PC). Tonight it works (obviously) but the problem was real.

    It seemed that there was no link to click on.

    I just updated the WordPress theme I’ve been using. Perhaps this upgrade will make a difference. We shall see.

    No problem with comments on Windows XP running on a MacBook Pro via VMWare Fusion, not sure what version this is of Internet Explorer.
