We celebrated Meda’s birthday last night with friends in town.
This year, the highlight was this short birthday serenade by longtime friend and distinguished historian, Jim Horton.
This video was taken with my Canon 5D and is shared here without any additional processing.

Ian, is that Wilma S? She was my classmate in high school and at UH.
Good eye!
XLNT!
Much, MUCH better resolution than the previous videos (HD, whaddaya expect, right?).
The camera did seem, however, to have difficulty adjusting focus when you panned to Meda. It was not exactly low light but, if the camera was operating on autofocus, perhaps it was struggling with that factor.
Still, happy to see this example, lookin’ for more!
” . . . perhaps it was struggling with that factor” and the proximity of the subject to the camera.
. . . . although Jim Horton might note be entirely thrilled by the gape-mouthed screen grab posted above!!
Not autofocus.
Camera operator (me) trying to remember manual focus.
If I’m not mistaken, focus does not automatically track when the camera or subject moves.
Happy Birthday, Meda!
love the HD
What a nice moment! (And caught on such great video!) Than you for sharing!
