This was our view at 7:39 a.m. on Christmas Morning. We’re thinking of those stuck in airports, shoveling driveways, sliding along ice-covered roadways. And we’re thinking how lucky we were to get out of the D.C. area before this next storm arrived. Our problem last night was very heavy rain from here to Kaneohe just as we were driving into town to spend Christmas Eve with my mother and sister. We almost turned back when we hit running water, twice, but soldiered on. Luckily, the drive back home later in the evening was clear, the rain had drifted out off shore.
And this morning, a beautiful sunrise.
Merry Christmas to all.
