Maui loses an alternative voice

This email arrived mid-week announcing the demise (at least temporarily, if not finally) of Maui’s Moon Over Haleakala newspaper.

Aloha Moon Readers, Advertisers, Supporters and Contacts,

I am writing to let you all know that I am suspending publication of Moon Over Haleakala as of the April issue.

We have been publishing since July of last year and have had wonderful reception from our community.

Right now, I need to fall back and regroup, as it were. We may be back publishing soon, only the moon knows for sure.

I want to thank our advertisers for helping to make the Moon Over Haleakala possible and our readers for letting us know how much they have been enjoying our efforts each month.

Maui is a wonderful community to publish for! Again, thanks everyone!

Ken Pinsky

Moon Over Haleakala Newspaper

The announcement came just two weeks after Pinsky announced the March issue, available in print and online, including “vivid video of the recent flood at Baldwin Beach.”

The Puna News stopped publishing over a year ago but recently has attempted a new .pdf version of the site.

http://puna-news.com/ (that’s the front page and it only gives access to the current issue)

I would hardly call it “news” though.
