Morning light in Kaaawa

Earlier this week, the morning light caught the mountains just right at the entrance to Kaaawa Valley, just beyond the beach where we walk in the morning. The light created a different “feel”, which I tried to capture in this photo.

Seems so bright, or full, or something for so early in the morning. Luminous, I think.

But what’s with that albizia tree growing atop the third “peak”? There’s one like that on the ridge at the back of Manoa valley. Those things grow like weeds, it seems, almost anywhere. There’s no soil to speak of up there so they must have shallow, spreading roots. Amazing that they don’t break off in the wind in those exposed places.

There was something about the sun breaking through the light rain that made for saturated colors, and those light spots up on the ridge line.

You certainly take some great pics…so clear, must be great equipment, too. I’ve also enjoyed some of your Dad’s old photos, too.
