In an email this morning, former governor Ben Cayetano urged support for Senator David Ige in his challenge to the incumbent governor, Neil Abercrombie.
Caytano calls the race ” truly a ‘David v. Goliath’ affair,” and says Ige is gaining momentum.
The former governor says he was “personally briefed” on a recent poll which put Ige ahead of Abercrombie 46% – 41% in the primary. Cayetano also cited a February Civil Beat poll which had the candidates tied at 37% each, but did not mention the most recent CB poll which showed Abercrombie pulling ahead among likely primary voters.
Cayetano also included a notice of a free Ige campaign event next week, a stew and rice dinner at Kalani High School on Monday, June 9.

Ben Cayetano. LOL.
desperate times, desperate PR …….. next story, please.
I trust Ben Cayetano and David Ige. It’s too bad Cayetano did not become the Mayor. The Honolulu Rail is a big scam and taxpayers are paying for it now with higher costs, fees and taxes.
It’s the little people vs. goliath investors developers bankers lawyers construction unions. Once asked carpenters union spokesperson who was herding his flock of unemployed workers around to public testimonies on rail: Where’s the wood? Rail guideway and condo towers are concrete and steel. He said they would do the drywall.
Thank goodness Honolulu did not elect Mr. Cayetano as mayor. He said, “Sewers and parks were not the kinds of things that excited me.” But the mayoral role looked more appealing after reading about Robert Moses?
