Al Hee companies and employees contributed at least $250,000 to federal candidates, PACs

Two companies controlled by Hawaii businessman Al Hee, along with their officers and employees, contributed about $250,000 to members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation and several Democratic Party PACs between 1998 and the end of 2014, according to online records of the Federal Communications Commission.

The contributions made by Hee and other officers and employees of Sandwich Isles Communications and its parent company, Waimana Enterprises.

According to FEC records, money went directly to the campaigns of members of Congress, almost all to Hawaii’s representatives and senators, as well as to political party committees.

Hee was convicted on tax charges stemming from what prosecutors said was a plan to evade taxes by claiming personal expenses as business expenses, and failing to report those payments as income. He is currently awaiting sentencing.

The list of contributions is divided by the company listed as the employer of the donor, and then by date.

I’ll add subtotals for each of the campaigns receiving donations a bit later.

  1. This just in

Stop smearing him!!! He might sue you.

But seriously, it’s pretty amazing that Hawaii media never investigated this obvious angle in detail.

Then again, not really amazing at all.

Maybe one of our favorite bloated blowhards will rip and regurgitate now.
