Yesterday I spent a few minutes browsing through thousands of photos that I’ve uploaded in bulk to Amazon’ Prime Photos, and came up with this one.

It’s my dad’s family in Long Beach, probably around 1923 or so. His parents were both immigrants from Scotland via England. I never knew my grandfather, and this is one of the few photos that I’ve found of him. My grandmother lived well into her 90s, and I did visit her several times in high school and later.

That’s my dad, John Lind, on the left. Younger brother, Tom, in the middle. And the oldest boy, Bill on the right. Bill was named after my grandfather, William Grace Lind. Missing: Younger sister, Janet. She wasn’t born until 1925.

All long gone now. Janet was the last to pass in 2011, less than a year after my dad’s death. [An earlier version incorrectly said my dad was the last if the Lind siblings to pass away.]
