James Comey’s amazing media blitz

The task of finishing up our federal taxes, just ahead of the filing deadline, ate my Tuesday. Today is a new day, and the state tax deadline isn’t until Friday. Yes, I’m a tax procrastinator, which usually makes for a busy tax week.

So I haven’t yet gotten to look back over the James Comey media blitz. It started with the advance excerpts from his new book, “A Higher Loyalty.”

For a bit more context, I recommend a column by Ben Wittes from Lawfare Blog.

Then move on to Comey’s ABC interview on Sunday. You can watch the video online at ABC.com, or read the transcript. And annotated excerpts by the New York Times are also informative.

Comey then appeared on National Public Radio. You can read the transcript of the full NPR interview.

Stephen Colbert got in the act, and his full interview–including portions not broadcast–is available online.

USA Today also did an interview with Comey, available as a podcast.

That’s quite a run in just a few days!

If you run across other examples, let us know!

What is fascinating is that there is a complete rejection of the media sources in your links by half the country. This rejection of these outlets has not lessened over time.

You might not believe it but half the country is celebrating everything pro-Trump.

These folks are not the least bit bothered by Comey. Do you really think an NPR story or what Steve Colbert runs with at night is creating any political movement?

Short of actually removing Trump from office, everything else thrown at Trump just makes him stronger.

Why not use the 365 days per year, 24/7 media control you guys have to develop a candidate with integrity for the next presidential election?

The 365/24/7 anti-Trump show is a complete failure. If we have 8 years of Trump, I know who to blame.
