In one photo you’ve captured why I could never be a Republican even with my mostly politically conservative beliefs. I’m a Democrat because I see public employee unions and trial lawyers as less of a danger to public order and comity than I do Evangelicals and radical gun enthusiasts. In the Time of Trump it has become impossible to disassociate any Republicans at any political level from the antics of their grievance-maddened majority. It’s still possible to do that with Democrats whose majority is far more open, mature, and, ironically enough, conservative in the values that it holds.
