One more thing…a rental ad for Gov. Ige’s Aiea home

For those who are interested in whether Gov. Ige’s Aiea home could possibly rent for upwards of $50,000 per year, here’s a real estate advertisement found online.

The house was listed for rent through Pacific International Realty for $4,900 per month.

I don’t know the date of this ad, but it taken off the market on August 14 of last year, apparently because had been rented. Although this site said it was “sold,” that appears to be incorrect. Real estate records show ownership of the property has not changed since it was purchased by David and Dawn Ige in 1999.

Thank you for this additional information. With real property tax rates for Residential A homes 3x that of other residential properties (on the amount over $1 million), I wouldn’t be surprised if the next time they advertise the rent is $5,100/mo. or more.

On Oahu market price runs it those ranges. But, even $4,500. Per month would be over $50k per year. Many readers do not understand elected officials reporting form categories. Example (A). Zero to $50k, and (B). $50k to $100k, etc on up.
My general observation is you do business in small groupings and bundling generally follows access. The relationship is quite cozy but, yet lacks the Kealoha criminal enterprise aspects. None the less the “Kintetsu” system is established in classic Japanese business style used in Hawaii and Japan. More well understood locally as “Tanimoshi” group friendships. Like clans of old Edo. The only question remains, does Governor Ige prefer “Ogami Iito, Lone Wolf with Cub. Abarenbu Shogun or Zatoichi“?

I’m confused and admittedly not up on contemporary or traditional Hawaii Japanese business philosophy not to mention history. Are we talking about Governor Ige identifying himself and his personal business with something inspired by the Takegawa Shogunate’s Master swordsman and executioner Ogami Iito? Somehow Ige just doesn’t fit in with the imagery, even if he tells himself he is a Zatoichi late at night in the mirror. But he is not blind either. If he’s Aberenbo maybe he should secretly grasp a conquest of the Mauna Kea situation. Don’t see anything in his public persona or administration that reflects a throwback to Samurai of old…..What an unlikely practitioner or spokesperson……….

Everyone has a fantasy, even Governor Ige, who may secretly be 7’ feet tall 375 lbs. Yokozuna, Akebono’s older brother from another father in Pearl City. At least, that may be his Anime or Coss Play costume.
But more than likely, like Aberenbo Shogun, when he say’s “Punish Them” it’s undoubtedly First Lady Dawn Ige, Public School Teacher who must do the real dirty work! Unlike, traditionalist First Lady Jean Ariyoshi, who fell asleep daily at the hairstylist.
