I was reading. She had other ideas.
I heard the clomp as Kali jumped down to the floor in another room, then the staccato sounds as she ran across our 1940-era vertical-grain fir floor until she was close enough to launch herself onto the bed, landing squarely on my chest and immediately beginning to rub her face across my bearded chin. I think it’s just scratchy enough to feel good to her. Plus she is a tactile cat who loves to rub and be rubbed.
I was reading a mystery on my iPad, and had the good sense to fire up the iPad camera, get it aimed back at us, and shoot a series of pictures. At least this one came out nicely.
Thank you, Ms. Kali.
