A recent flurry of court filings in the Miske case

There’s been a lot going on in the courtroom side of the Miske case, with attempts to remove his two lead attorneys, their responses accusing prosecutors of blatant errors and misapplication of the law, a request to spin off the two most recent “obstruction of justice” charges into a separate trial, a motion to move the whole trial out of Hawaii to Las Vegas or another city on the U.S. mainland, and finally a preliminary filing by Miske’s attorneys indicating they intend to request yet another delay in the trial, which as pushed back five months by a court order filed just last week to a starting date of September 11.

My attempt to provide an update on these varied legal maneuvers was posted this morning over at Civil Beat (“ Media Coverage Prompts Request To Move Miske Trial To The Mainland”).

I’ll be back sometime later to comment further.
