Monday…that darned ‘ol hurricane, Gannett looks ahead, Hawaii sightings, & Ms. Kitten

As my friend Michael, now living in Hilo, says about “that Darned ol’ Hurricane”…”Somehow, I just don’t like it when they get this close.”

He suggests going directly to the National Weather Service information on Flossie via this link.

A small change in Gannett’s plan for executives in the event of a change of control of the company caught the eye of reporters and bloggers who recognized the potential implications.

Before this site disappeared yesterday morning, I found several things Hawaiian published other places. There was the Washington Post story describing the stress on families from repeated Iraq deployments, which leads with a Schofield family. Then there were travel hints from the Boston Globe, and a story in the Sunday Times (UK) about the Hawaii adventure of Bear Grylls, a television adventurer, who it turns out faked several aspects of a supposedly harrowing volcano trip. Then there was the story from the Swindon Advertiser, another UK newspaper, about the Hawaii-themed fundraiser featuring grass skirts, flowered shirts, bikinis, and phones answered “Aloha”.

Staff on the phones said “aloha” to customers and anyone visiting business fuel company Arval at Windmill Hill Business Park on Friday.

The office building swarmed with people wearing grass skirts and brightly coloured shirts for the Hawaiian-themed fundraising event.

Customer services staff in the fuel department decided their day of hula and Pacific food was the perfect way to celebrate the summer and raise money for the Advertiser-backed Prospect@ Home appeal.

Around 20 staff at the firm dressed in bikinis and flower necklaces.

Ah, if spreading aloha were really so easy.

Ms. KittenIt wasn’t love at first sight, but there was a brief courtship between Ms. Kitten and Mr. Leo yesterday afternoon, and here’s a picture to prove it. It started with the kitten playing in the box, which attracted Leo’s attention. When Leo approached, the kitten took off, only to circle back around when Leo settled down. This face off lasted less than a minute, but I consider it a very good beginning.

I also received an email from Pete, whose in Montana, if I recall correctly.

Sheeesh…go away for a month or so during the summer, and the kat thing grows…….and even had to sift through all the political stuff to find out information on what the blog is realllly all about…..katts…!!!

Time to Name that Katt !!!!…..

Blackie White Paws ??

This was what a remarkably similar cat of ours was named up on Wilhelmina Rise late 40’s.

I think the cat was a he, but the name could also be generic……….

By the way, Ms. Kitten has been spending the night with us. In bed. Our bed. She shared it last night with Ms. Kili as well, and even tried snuggling up to Kili at one point.

I think I’ll head over and check the latest Flossie update.

Have a good Monday.
