The Miske Enterprise: A summary of the charges

Federal prosecutors are calling the criminal organization allegedly controlled by local businessman Michael John Miske Jr., the “Miske Enterprise.”

Allegedly set-up along the lines of a traditional organized crime group, the “Miske Enterprise” allegedly used a string of legitimate businesses as fronts for their criminal activities.

These were summarized in yesterday’s indictment of Miske and ten associates who allegedly were part of the larger criminal conspiracy.

…among other things,(i) engaging in business practices that increased the profits of businesses controlled by the Miske Enterprise, but that ran afoul of applicable rules and regulations; (ii) the collection of extensions of credit by extortionate means;(iii) various forms of fraud, including a cash payroll scheme, a false certified payroll scheme, fraudulent change orders, a fraudulent scheme relating to representations about proper licensing, fraudulent fumigation practices, and bank fraud; (iv)employment tax evasion schemes; (v) extortion; (vi) robbery; (vii) narcoticstrafficking; (vii) money laundering; and (viii) illegal structuring of cash transactions.

The charges, defendants, and maximum sentences were summarized in a news release yesterday from the Department of Justice.

Once again we rely on the Feds to clean up a mess that the HPD lacks competence or willingness to Investigate.

Think it too easy to blame HPD. In fact, they may’ve gotten feds involved. Think this so extensive and charged were friends w/people in high places, that it best out-of-towners handle the mess.

This murder case, etc. is similar to John Gotti’s neighbor who dissappeared without a trace after he ran over and killed Gotti’s young son. Let’s see how much teflon Don Miske has on.
